That's not real big depending on what you motor is. If you swapped out an old Holley for a new quick fuel because of performance issues, and are still having a problem, you need to look elsewhere. Heck ya a timing issue can cause these problems. More initial advance helps burn the idle mix.

The number 28 will be stamped on the head of these restrictions. An additional pair of restrictions are included to richen the idle mixture, sometimes required with larger carburetors where the original main body is retained.
The engine is 383 crate engine with a 234/244 cam. It has 13" vacuum at idle. I've tried all the easy things to lean out the idle. The only things I haven't done are to make and install wire restrictors in the idle feeds and drill the throttle plates. The cruise circuit is another story; way too lean.
